In 1910 La Cie La Fonderie Roy was incorporated to manufacture sawmills, rail cars and machinery. We have seen a 32" bandsaw from this firm that likely dates from close to 1910. The business survived past World War II but information after that time is non-existent.
St-Anselme has had a foundry since the 1850s. See also our entry for the Fonderie St-Anselme. We have not been able to make a connection between La Fonderie Roy and earlier foundries in that area, but information is rather sparse.
La Fonderie Roy did not seem to advertise, and we have not found much information on the products they made, just some scattered listings of them as a foundry.
