With roots tracing back to 1868, Barnhart Brothers & Spindler was a manufacturer of printing equipment, including a trim-saw for cutting type. The "Superior Point-System Saw" was a pedestal-mounted small saw with a belted motor drive that could cross-cut, miter and bevel metal type.
Barnhart Brothers & Spindler was acquired by American Type Founders, Inc. in 1911. So far as we can tell their printer's saw was discontinued in favor of the models ATF was already manufacturing.
