The firm of Henry Broadbent, of Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, was a large maker of large lathes. They were in business by 1880. By 1955 they were part of machine-tool conglomerate Kerry's. In January 1962 Kerry's merged two of their businesses, Henry Broadbent and Oldfield & Schofield, to create Broadbent-Schofield. They were still in business in 1972
