By 1906, Albert W. Miller had incorporated the A. W. Miller Manufacturing Co. and was manufacturing a patented hand-powered mortising machine that was intended primarily for mortising doors after they had been hung in the opening. These mortisers are marked "A. W. Miller / Patent.
