By 1962 the Concentro Service Corp. of High Point, NC, was manufacturing a rather unusual-looking segmented spiral-knife planer cutter-head, the Kwik-Set. It used carbide cutting edges and was intended for heavy production use. By 1971 the company relocated to Greensboro. The cutter-heads were offered until at least 1979 but it seems to have disappeared after that time. It is possible that competition from the Newman Quietcut head, introduced in 1974, helped kill off the Concentro Kwik-Set head.

We learned of this maker from an owwm.org forum discussion, which includes a photograph of a Concentro head as well as a discussion of the merits of the design.
1962 Hill's High Point (Guilford County, N.C.) City Directory. Under Machinery Manufacturers, "Concentro Service Corp (cutter heads) 2400 Lowe av". The alphabetical listing is "Concentro Service Corp Franklin D Morris pres, W Harold Condrey v-pres and Wm W Showler sec-treas mfrs 2400 Lowe av".

1965-05-09 the High Point Enterprise, in the Help Wanted section. "WOMAN 25 OR OLDER, part time in wash shop. Experience, desirable but not necessary. Apply Monday, Tuesday, May 10 to 11, Concentro Service Corp, 2400 Lowe Ave."
