Charles Christian Wais organized C. C. Wais Machine Co. when he sold his interest in Wais-King Tool Co. in January 1902. He built the Wais patent universal plate, bar, and angle shear. The firm apparently liquidated by June 1907, when the entire plant was sold. In late 1909 Mr. Wais sold his interests in the shear to Covington Machine Co., and briefly went to work for Covington.
