The firm manufactured kindling wood machinery, and had been in business since 1857, according to their 1892 catalog seen on eBay. As Greene, Trowbridge & Baldwin in 1870, they manufactured an upright balance steam engine. M. C. Greene was succeeded by Greene Manufacturing Co. in early 1901.
