Samson was a brand name for vises and tools from Sears, Roebuck & Co. The Samson name first appeared in the fall 1908 catalog for better-quality vises. Samson vises overlapped with Dunlap vises from spring 1939 to spring 1940, when Samson was discontinued. Earlier, the Samson name overlapped with several short-term vise brand names, including Anchor (1908), Handy-Man (1925-27), Little Giant (1926-35), Monitor (1929-30), Hercules, and Ajax.
