Also known as Eagle Anvil Works, Fisher & Norris was established in 1843 and manufactured vises from the beginning. Their vise types were bench, bench and pipe, machinist, railway, swivel, toolmakers, woodworking, and combination vise and anvil. The company operated until 1979.

Fisher & Norris had the distinction of being led by a woman, Harriet Fisher, after the death of her husband, Captain Clark Fisher, in 1902. Dubbed the "Anvil Queen," Mrs. Fisher was the subject of numerous newspaper stories through the late 1920s.
