Star vise with drill attachment, 1912
Named for inventor James W. Conchar, Schreiber & Conchar Manufacturing Co. made the Star combination vise-anvil-drill, as well as hardware specialties. By 1912, Loetscher-Ryan Manufacturing Co., also of Dubuque, was making the Star vise-anvil-drill. Rock Island Manufacturing Co. took over Loetscher-Ryan in 1918, removed the stars from the patterns, and sold it as the Rimco.
