Established by 1891, Morgan Vise Co. was apparently taken over or succeeded in 1973 by Milwaukee Tool & Equipment Co., which continues to manufacture Morgan vises. Morgan is believed to have used Mercury as a brand name.
There have been vise photos and discussion on Garage Journal of vises which say Standard Vise, and closely resemble Morgan vises. We have been unable to find any advertising, catalogs, or articles to confirm this. Some vise examples have a catalog number such as 716E.
