Binnie Electric Drill & Machinery Co. was incorporated at the beginning of 1904 by Robert Binnie, Sr., and son Robert Jr. We know they made rock drills and we have an unconfirmed report that they made a handheld electric drill.

- 1904-02-04 Electrical World and Engineer. "THE BINNIE ELECTRIC DRILL & MACHINERY COMPANY., of Fairfield township, Westmoreland County, Pa., has been chartered with a capital stock of $10,000. Among the directors are Robert Binnie, sr., and Robert Binnie, jr."
- 1905-04-06 Industry Week. "A Drill Chuck—This device has been patented by Robert Binnie, of the Binnie Electric Drill & Machinery Co., of Bolivar, Pa. The company uses its chuck on its mining drills and says that 'the crystallization due to hard shocks in drilling rock is greatly moderated.' The inventor avers that the chuck can be employed in drill press work and 'will take all sizes of drills by the use of a perforated sleeve to allow the retaining lugs to pass through and engage the drill in the center of the bore.'..."
