  Daniel j. Williams, Jr. Upped By Producto to Sales Post

  Daniel J. Williams, Jr., has been named distributor sales manager for the Tooling Division of The Producto Machine Co., Bridgeport, moving up from his post as sales manager of the company's plain' in Cleveland, Ohio. Producto's Tooling Division manufactures punch press die sets, punches and dies, die making and handling equipment, and unitized perforating units for the metal stamping industry. In announcing the appointment. Philip R. Marsilius, vice president of Producto, stated that Mr. Williams' new duties will include direction and supervision of the Division's distributor and dealer activities, the conduct of regional sales and technical meetings, and the training of new sales personnel. He succeeds Jerome F. Ferdinand who has been appointed manager of Tool Products Corp., a Producto affiliate, and will be working out of the company's headquarters in Bridgeport.

  Before joining Producto In 1959. Mr. Williams was vice president of the Connecticut Tool Engineering Co. A former president of the Southern Connecticut Tool & Die Precision Machining Association, he later served as a trustee of the national organization. He is a member of the American Society of Tool Manufacturing Engineers, and a graduate of the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Williams and his wife, the former Marguerite Rowan, both of Fairfield, and their three children reside at 2476 Dysart road, University Heights, Ohio, but will shortly relocate in Connecticut.

  Edward E. Peters, manager of marketing services of the Producto Machine company, has been appointed manager of manufacturing, it was announced by Philip R. Marsilius, executive vice president. Succeeding Mr. Peters will be Daniel J. Williams, Jr., who fills the marketing services post in addition to his duties as distributor sales manager. Mr. Williams will also serve as advertising and sales promotion coordinator, responsibilities of which were likewise, formerly handled by Mr. Peters.

  Producto, whose headquarters plant is in Bridgeport, is one of the country's leading manufacturers of punch press tooling, toolroom equipment and special machine tools.

  New Responsibility—As manager of manufacturing, Mr. Peters will have overall responsibility for production operations in two major divisions: Die Set and Pierce-All. Included in the latter division are Perf-o-Mator hole punching and notching machines, and unitized tooling. Mr. Peters, who also serves as secretary of the corporation joined Producto in 1961. An honor graduate of Yale university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Bridgeport. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society o Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Mr. Williams joined Producto 10 years ago as New England sales representative and has served as manager of the company's Cleveland branch. A former president of the Southern Connecticut Tool, Die Precision Machining association, he late served as a trustee of the national organization. He is a member of the American Society of Tool Manufacturing Engineers, and a graduate of the University of Bridgeport.
