This oil engine manufacturer had its business office in Chicago and plant in Ludington, MI. The name changed from Taylor Machine Co. to Taylor Oil Engines, Inc. between 1921 and 1924. A Google Books snippet view from Engineers: Listing of the Engineers of Corporations with Their Official Duties and Connections, 1928, states "Prop.[proprietor], J. H. Taylor TAYLOR OIL ENGINES, INC. “Taylor oil engines” stationary and marine and automotive types, 30 to 500 BHP, 600 RPM series, 1000 RPM series, weight average 25 lbs per BHP) Plant, Ludington, Mich."
