Magee Sheet Metal Machinery Co. was organized in 1913 and incorporated in 1914 in Detroit by Wilbur R. Magee. Magee invented sheet metal wiring and edging machines used to produce vehicle fenders, wheelbarrow trays, and other sheet metal products with reinforced edges. The company moved from Detroit to Ypsilanti in 1925. Magee sold the business in 1957.
