What is known about Bateman Foundry & Machine Co. and their products thus far is from their 1963 catalog. They made the Bateman Bantam Iron Worker, a combination shear and punch, and the Bateman Shear. Dies were available for the first machine for cutting mild steel channel and angle iron, and ornamental iron including handrail from several listed manufacturers. The catalog states about the Bantam, "This machine is designed for both the large and small fabricators of steel and ornamental iron."
The catalog also describes the business. "This is a family owned corporation. We have a modern foundry, machine shop, pattern shop, forgings, plating, heat treat. Manufacture power presses, ice processing equipment, special equipment for the ceramic industry and gray iron castings. Engineer and build machines and equipment as well as tool and die work."
