“The Foglesong Machine Co., Dayton, 0., manufactures the “Dayton” power hammer, a first-class moderate-priced machine adapted to the requirements of general manufacture, carriage makers, blacksmiths, etc. It is no experiment, being in daily use in the factory of the company, subjected to the hardest possible work, and under all kinds of conditions. It is claimed the “Dayton” has a feature not possessed by the upright style hammer offered in the market, that of welding, etc., circular pieces, tires, etc., as there are no parts in the construction of the hammer which will obstruct the placing of work of any shape upon the anvil. This is a special and necessary feature demanded by blacksmiths.” (Quote from June 1908)
