In 1854, the partnership of Lomas, Fromings & Sykes were operating the Sheffield Iron Works, makers of a patent power hammer. Their other products includes vises, anvils, and handheld (non-power) hammers

An 1851 patent for a forge-hammer was granted to Thomas Henry Fromings of Sheffield.
1853 Official Catalogue of the Great Industrial Exhibition (in connection with the Royal Dublin Society): "Lomas, Fromings & Sykes, Sheffield, Manu.—Working model of Froming's patent forge hammer, smiths' anvils and vices; water tueiron; hand sledge hammer; millwright's and engineer's chipping hammer."
Article in April 1854 Practical Mechanics Journal on this firm's power hammer which had recently been patented by T. H. Fromings.
1854 Post Office Directory of Sheffield lists "Lomas, Fromings & Sykes, iron manufacturers, Sheffield Iron Works, Forge lane."
1854 The Palace and Park lists this firm as exhibiting machinery in that year's Exhibition.
1854 General Directory of Sheffield (PDF) lists "Fromings, Thomas Hy. patentee" under "Heeley".
