Greene, Tweed & Co. was founded in 1863 by two brothers, J. Ashton Greene and John W.Greene to distribute hardware and mill supplies. In about 1900, they bought out the Rochester Automatic Lubricator Co. and took over the manufacturing of the Rochester Automatic Lubricator.
The firm moved to Kulpsville, PA in 1945.
