Beginning in 1932 and continuing for only a few years, the Emerald Electric Co., of Adrian, Michigan, manufactured single-phase and polyphase induction motors. In about 1940 the business seems to have relocated to Toledo, Ohio and continued there is a low-key way for about another decade. Data on this maker is very sparse.

  • From a 1932 issue of Michigan Manufacturer and Financial Record: "Adrian will add to its constantly growing web of smaller industrial enterprises through the recent incorporation of the Emerald Electric Company. The company will manufacture a low horsepower electric motor in the former Auto Lite factory. Production will start some time in June."
  • From a 1932 issue of Michigan Manufacturer and Financial Record (Volume 49, page 12): "Emerald Electric Co., Adrian; create, hold and sell patent rights. F. H. Myers, Adrian, 2,400 shares on par value."
