This important patent covers what became known as the Fay Automatic Lathe. In 1912 some additional improvements were made by Otto W. Schaum, patent 1,042,149. It appears that by 1917 the rights to this lathe belonged to Jones & Lamson Machine Co.; a team led by Ralph Flanders made more improvements to the design (patent 1,219,813). |

In 1909 the inventor was granted patent 910,466, an important patent for what became known as the Fay Automatic Lathe. In 1912 his business, Fay Machine Tool Co., was acquired by Jones & Lamson Machine Co. It is not known who, if anyone, manufactured this 1915 lathe patent. |
