Breuer Electric Manufacturing Co. was founded in Chicago, IL, in 1927. The company originally manufactured electric cleaning equipment but quickly expanded the line to include industrial and commercial vacuum cleaners and blowers, including the "Tornado" line of equipment. After World War II, Breuer expanded manufacturing to include commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment. The company changed names to
Tornado Industries in 1999, and in 2007 was acquired by Tacony Corporation.
