In the early 20th century, Weaver Manufacturing Co. made presses, including arbor presses and "garage presses" intended for use in auto repair.

October 1914 Machinery, in an article on exhibits at the Foundry and Machine Exhibit in Chicago, mentions "Weaver Mfg. Co., Springfield, Ill. Weaver roller jaw drill chucks; auto twin jacks; and garage presses."
