In 1978 Stan Jasinski established Hyd-Mech Engineering Ltd. in Woodstock, Ontario, to provide engineering consulting services related to hydraulic and forestry equipment. In 1980 he began making a mitering cold saw that he had designed to fill a gap he had perceived in the machinery market. New cold saw and band saw products were added to the lineup to serve a variety of industries. Material handling products were also added to the lineup. Today their emphasis is on solutions for manufacturing, though they still make standard cold saws as well as horizontal and vertical bandsaws.
As of 2021 Hyd-Mech Group, Ltd. of Woodstock is part of The MEP Group, which in 2019 became part of Legris Industries.
