In 1860, John Clark was manufacturing a solid-chisel mortiser; an example of the mortiser surfaced in Quebec and is now in possession of the author. Photos are coming soon.

The mortiser was based on the Green and Jackson patent and the same machine was made, apparently at the same time, by William Jackson, also of Leeds.
