James Thompson Milne was a "citizen of Great Britain". A bit more than a year after this patent was issued, he was living in Canada and was granted a Canadian patent, 21,961, for a sawmill carriage. He began manufacturing sawmills under his own name but within a few years he was designing sawmills for Waterous Engine Works of Brantford, Ontario. |
