Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. was established in 1890 to manufacture the Simonson patent log lifter and turner. The principals were George Campbell, George H. Chamberlain and Herbert A. Kinney. The North-West was the strongest market for the Simonson log handling equipment and we wonder if this firm found it easier to license their patents to sawmill machinery makers located in that part of the country. In any event it appears that the Chamberlain company was short-lived.
Although the company did not survive, the Simonson log turner continued to enjoy success once the patents expired, being made by a range of companies.
