- From Reports and awards for the Centennial Exhibition, 1876: "J. H. Blaisdell, Philadelphia, Pa., U. S. UPRIGHT MOULDING AND SHAPING MACHINES. These machines are simple and can be produced at a low price. The upright moulder exhibited by this firm is a useful machine for several purposes."
- In an article on the American Institute Fair, the November 1883 issue of Manufacturer & Builder says that "the J. H. Blaisdell Machine Works, of this city [i.e., New York], exhibit some of Goodell & Waters' wood-working machinery, also the Blaisdell molder." The following year they reported that Blaisdell "displayed a number of wood-working machines of his manufacture."
