Image Description:
The accompanying engraving shows a general view of the new plant of the Crescent Machine Company of Leetonia, O., which was completed recently. The new buildings are all of brick and steel construction.

The foundry is 90 by 160 feet and was designed to have ample capacity for the company's constantly increasing business. At this time only one cupola is operated, but the building is so constructed that another cupola can be installed alongside the one now in use. The second cupola is on the ground, so that with very little extra work the company can greatly increase its foundry capacity. An electric crane for handling heavy work is installed.

The machine shop is 90 by 300 feet, and is fitted throughout with special tools and appliances for turning out machines economically and in large quantities. The design provides for the installation of an electric crane in this building also. Both the foundry and machine shop are arranged in such a manner that additions may be made to the buildings without interfering with the operation of the present plant. The buildings have cement floors throughout, and are as nearly fireproof as factory buildings are ever constructed, and it is stated that they are much more nearly fireproof than some buildings which are supposed to be absolutely so.

The plant is located on a 12-acre tract of land, so that there is ample room for expansion. There are good railroad facilities, a spur track adjacent to both of the buildings.

The Crescent Machine Company manufactures woodworking machinery and intends to make several additions to its present line.
