Sensitive Drill.—Pig. 2 represents a sensitive drill manufactured by W. P. & J. Barnes, Rockford, Ill. By the friction-disk, shown in the cut, the speed of the drill-spindle can be increased or diminished, or the motion reversed, without stopping the machine or shifting belts. The feed-lever is provided with a sensitive adjustment, which makes it possible to use the smallest drills. The platen can be moved on the column, and clamped at any desired height. |
