Image Description:
2-Spindle Centering Machine

This machine is made in two sizes. Each machine will drill and countersink the centers in shafts of any length. For large shafts over five feet long, a support beyond the machine may be required. The spindles are independent and are driven at different speeds. They are both operated by the same handle, which also serves to swing the drill spindle away from and the countersinking spindle into position, and the reverse. The jaws of the vice, operated by a right and left-hand screw, hold one end of the work central with the operating spindle, and an adjustable graduated rest, movable on the bed, supports the other end.

Each machine is furnished with 150 twist drills, ten center reamers and oil tanks.

No. 1 machine will center 3-inch and smaller diameters; has countershaft with 7x2 3/8 T. & L. pulleys, which should run 275 revolutions per minute. Weight, 470 pounds.

No. 2 machine will center 6-inch and smaller diameters. Weighs 1,150 pounds; has tight and loose pulleys on countershaft, 12x2¼ inches, which should make 175 revolutions per minute.
