18-Inch Pattern-Makers’ Lathe with Carriage
Swings 18 inches over the bed. The head is so arranged that it can be swiveled, and when used in connection with the hand-feeding carriage, much time can be saved in turning outside or inside tapers accurately. The spindle carries a four-graded cone for 2¼-inch belt. The face-plate on the rear ‘of head is for supporting chuck-plates for pieces of large diameter, using the ?oor-rest as is shown in cut. A bed of any desired length, from 5 to 12 feet, can be furnished. Weight of machine, 7-foot bed, and countershaft, 1,150 pounds. The countershaft has tight and loose pulleys, 7 inches diameter, for a 4-inch belt. Speed, 650 revolutions per minute. |
