l8-inch Hand Lathe with Back Gears
Swings 18 inches. The plain head has cone of ?ve grades, the largest diameter 13 inches, for 2½-inch belt. The back geared head has similar cone of four grades. The spindle runs in boxes lined with compressed Babbitt-metal, with bearings of 4½ X 2¼ and 3½ X 1¾ inches. The projecting end of the spindle is 2¼ inches in diameter and has a 6 pitch thread for receiving the face-plate or chuck. The spindle has hole through center, ¾ inches diameter. Extra T-rests, wrenches, and countershaft are included with the lathe. A 6-foot bed takes 3 feet between centers; weight, 1,090 pounds. The countershaft has 12x4-inch tight and loose pulleys; speed, 200 revolutions per minute. These lathes are made plain or back-geared, and with any length of bed required. Also with two head and foot stocks. |
