The Bemis Patent Valve Milling Machine is designed to mill the hexagonal sides of brass valves and nuts. The vertical turret, containing arbors, revolves continuously with uniform motion, being driven from a three-graded feed cone. The arbors are automatically indexed twice after passing the ?rst pair of cutters so that three pair of cutters mill a complete hexagon. After the first one has been milled, a hexagon is finished at every sixth revolution of the turret. The machine will finish about 120 hexagons per hour. The largest one that can be milled is 3½-inches in short diameter. The countershaft has tight and loose pulleys, 10-inches diameter, 6-inch face, and should make 500 revolutions per minute.
Weight of machine, with countershaft, 3,800 pounds. Price, $1,600, net.
