An etching of this catalog can be seen in a 1909 MacGregor, Gourlay Co. catalog (a woodworking machinery maker in Galt, Ontario). The base of the machine is marked, "THE BOSS WOOD POLISHER... MFG'D BY PERRY & CO. BERLIN WIS... PAT MAR 20 187? NOV 5 1878 APR 1880 APR 1881". The text for the catalog page notes that the machine is manufactured by MacGregor, Gourlay, "off patterns new and entirely remodelled." We have not listed this Canadian company as a maker of this patent because the patents had expired by that time. |
