2,557,454 Jun. 19, 1951 Turning Tool Donald H. Montgomery West Hartford, Hartford County, CT This application is a continuation in part of my application Serial No. 383,320, filed 14 March, 1941, now abandoned.

Claim:
Generally speaking a turning tool bit is mounted so as to be adjusted in a direction generally radially of the work. Such a tool is rather difficult to adjust accurately in that any variation in the position of adjustment will make a corresponding variation in the diameter of the turned surface. Furthermore, a turning tool on a Gridley or like tool slide is conventionally mounted in a manner to cause side thrusts to be transmitted to the slide and thus tend to twist the same on its stem.
2,590,068 Mar. 18, 1952 Combined Boring and Turning Tool Arthur F. Pekrul New Britain, Hartford County, CT Claim:
It is a specific object to make a combination boring (or turning) tool head which may concurrently perform a crosscut without requiring reaction from the work during a feed of the too] head and of the work relatively to each other.

2,660,911 Dec. 01, 1953 Operating Handle for Rotary Tools Karl E. Queitzsch York, York County, PA Features include "ball" head, ratchet pawl, swinging handle, and one handle position where the head and handle are positively "locked." Cited in patent no. 2,709,386, which refines this design and which was produced as a reversible ratchet by New Britain Machine Co.
The specifications cite patent nos. 1,670,547, 2,092,345, 2,503,373 and French patent 610,903 as references.

2,685,219 Aug. 03, 1954 Open-End Wrench Jaws Having Thrust and Pull Surfaces of Different Curvature Fritz Diebold Romandy,, Switzerland Applied for in Switzerland, 31 Mar 1952.
2,709,386 May. 31, 1955 Angularly Adjustable, Reversible Ratchet Wrench Roy C. Hopgood Glen Ridge, Essex County, NJ This patent is an improvement on patent #2,660,911. The application was co-filed with a second application which ultimately received patent # 2,800,821.
The term "flexratchet" appears in the specifications. A known 3/8 inch drive example with markings including NB 50 and PAT. PEND. shares features of this patent and 2,800,821.
The specifications note patent nos. 1,261,092, 1,670,547, 2,092,345, 2,503,373, 2,656,865, 2,660,911 and French patent 610,903 as references.
2,800,821 Jul. 30, 1957 Angularly Adjustable, Reversible Ratchet Wrench Eugene M. Frucella New Britain, Hartford County, CT Improvement to ratchets of the type based on patent no. 2,660,911. A co-application not noted in these specifications received patent no. 2,709,386.
The direction of ratchet action is determined by swinging the handle from one side to the other. When the handle is "straight on" the head is fixed. The exterior shell of the head is attached to the handle by a snap ring.
The exterior appearance of the New Britain NB 50 ratchet matches the drawing in this patent.
Patent nos. 1,261,092, 1,670,547, 2,092,345, 2,503,373, 2,656,865, 2,660,911 and French patent 710,903 are cited as references.

Hoern, Saginaw, Mich., assignor, by mesne assignments, of small percentages to various assignees". Mesne assignments are those that are first assigned to one person or company who then transfers the assignment to someone else—or to more than one other entity.
The estate of Joseph Hoern sued New Britain Machine Co. over royalties on that company's "BV" cam-actuated boring machine.
