Ratchet wrench
|
Edward Henry Peterson |
Chicago, IL |
The main feature of this patent is the method of assembly. The component parts of the ratchet mechanism are inserted in the wrench body and after the side plates are in place, the assembly is compressed with double dies which fold the edges of the recess over the side plates and lock all the parts together without rivets or screws. One of the side plates has a hole to oil the interior mechanism.
The set in the 2nd photo is a DURO-CHROME No. 4490 refrigeration wrench including sockets with integral 1/4" studs to fit the 1/4" square drive in the ratchet head.
The design was also used in contract production of tools appearing with other brands. |
