This patent number was seen on a nailing machine from Auto-Nailer Co., which was in part based on this inventor's nailing machines of patent 2,036,988.
2,036,988 Apr. 07, 1936 Machine for making and inserting metallic fastenings Davis J. Ajouelo Atlanta, GA This patent was the beginnings of the Auto-Soler Co. and the Auto-Nailer Co. The patented machine was intended for nailing soles to shoes or boots but it reportedly did not work at all reliably and it took years of further research and development to produce a practical machine, which would then be extended for use with wood and plastic.

2,315,382 Mar. 30, 1943 Machine for uniting layers of material Davis J. Ajouelo Atlanta, GA This is another attempt at a nailing machine by what would become the Auto-Nailer Co. Co-inventor James Linton Moore was the primary inventor and was deceased by the time the patent was issued.
This machine used a coil of wire to form nails to attach soles to shoes or boots, and is an improvement to patent 2,049,240.
