This business was established in 1921 as "Hamilton Ross Factories, Inc." by Mr. Hamilton Ross. In about 1950, this company made a small scrollsaw and the Drill-O-Matic ¼" pistol-grip electric drill.

There is a connection to Atkins Industries, Inc., which shared the same street address and made a very similar scrollsaw. Compare this Atkins saw with this Hamilton Ross saw.

  • Between 1927 and 1929, a company named Hamilton-Ross Factories, Inc. was granted a half dozen design patents for ornately decorated table lamps.

  • Ad in April 1952 Popular Science for a fishing kit (rod, reel, lures, and knife). The company name is Hamilton Ross Industries, Co. and the address was "Box No. 7140, Chicago 80, Ill."
  • Seen on eBay: a small scroll-saw of all-metal construction. It is toy sized but somewhat heavier duty than a typical toy saw. It is labeled as follows:

  • Also seen on eBay: a small electric drill from this maker. The drill is not the usual pistol-grip design, but rather has a folding wooden handle mounted near the front of the drill body. A separate eBay listing was seen for a Drill-O-Matic ¼" pistol-grip electric drill with all-aluminum housing.
