This company made "Lux " brand oscillating spindle sanders and lathes. In this, it was preceded by Lux Machine Co. of Minneapolis, which was in business from at least 1928 to 1939.

- Eric Tuck brought this maker to our attention in a posting to the OWWM forum. Eric found an ad for Lux Machine Company giving their address as 22 East Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis.
- A 1928 issue of Industrial Education lists, under wood lathes, "Lux Machine Co., 22 E. Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, Minn." a 1929 issue lists then under both wood lathes and sanders. Another 1928 issue has the following:
NEW TYPE B LATHE—The Lux Machine Company of Minneapolis, Minn., has announced a new type of B lathe, ... Information concerning the new type B lathe may be obtained by writing to the Lux Machine Company at 22 East Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, Minn.
- Bruce's 1930 School Shop Annual lists Lux Machine Co. as a lathe manufacturer.
- A 1939 issue of The School Executive has the following snippet:
Spindle Sander—Specifications for Lux spindle sander are given in a leaflet by the LUX MACHINE CO., 2936 Pillsbury Ave. South, Minneapolis, Minn.
- The December 1949 Popular Science has a brief writeup of the Lux Junior sander. "The maker is Minneapolis Machine & Tool Co."
- Joe Potter confirmed the connection between Minneapolis Machine & Tool Co. and the Lux Machine Co.
