In the 1920s and 1930s this company, made type-trimming saws similar to those from Hammond Machine Co., but smaller. The machines were designed and patented by Christian B. Nelson. At some point between 1932 and 1939 the company was acquired by American Type Founders, Inc. of New Jersey. ATF was a financially troubled company by that time, and at some point before 1956 they sold the C. B. Nelson & Co. to Fastener Corp. of Franklin Park, IL.
