Cincinnati Electrical Tool Co. was incorporated in late 1902 by W. G. Benninger, J. W. Zimerer, John G. Appel, George A. Appel and Charles A. Appel. The company quickly introduced a lineup of handheld electric drills, grinders and buffers.

In September 1925 the business reorganized and appointed a new board, with Joseph Wolf of Hisey-Wolf Machine Co. as president and treasurer, R. K. LeBlond of R. K. LeBlond Machine Tool Co. as vice-president, and Edward G. Schultz as secretary. It appears that the company was in need of capital and LeBlond and Wolf, and perhaps others, had made investments in the business. By 1931, advertisements were from Cincinnati Electrical Tool Co., Division of R. K. LeBlond Machine Tool Co.

In 1949 Cincinnati Electric acquired Hisey-Wolf Machine Co., and in 1962 they took over the Standard Electrical Tool Co (SETCO) line of grinders and buffers. At some point between 1968 and 2007, Cincinnati Electric Tool Co. merged or co-located with United States Electrical Tool Co. at 5928 Hamilton Cleves Pike Rd. (State Rt. 128), Miamitown, OH.

The company closed its doors in 2017.
