Moore Manufacturing & Foundry Co. manufactured vises beginning in about 1890. In 1894 the vise maker Stowell Manufacturing & Foundry Co. of Milwaukee was advertising themselves as "successors to Moore Mfg. & Foundry Co."; the Stowell company seems to have only been successors to a portion of the Moore company. In 1897 the remaining part of the Moore company moved to Cleveland, OH, and reorganized as Chisholm & Moore Manufacturing Co., producing hoists, trolleys, and cranes.
