In keeping with its many uses, the Versa-Mil or VersaMil lathe and milling machine attachment has had a number of manufacturers in very different locations. Originally made by Versa-Mil Co. of New York City beginning in 1948, owner David S. McCullough sold to Dumore Co. in 1956. In 1978 Dumore sold their tool line to Phillips Corp. of Annapolis, MD, which operated it as Versa-Mil, Inc., of College Park, MD. Phillips sold Versa-Mil to the current owners in 1999, named VersaMil, Inc.
