Active from 1960, the Ellis Tool & Manufacturing Co. made machinist vises, dividing heads and indexing heads. It succeeded the Pump Division of Byron Jackson Co., which in turn had succeeded the Ellis-Lawyer Tool Co.; see the Ellis-Lawyer entry for more information.
