In 1874 Frank A. Huntington was operating the Globe Iron Works at 143-145 Fremont Street, San Francisco, where he manufactured patent shingle machines, sawmill machinery, and steam engines, among other products. Based on somewhat thin evidence, the business seems to have survived until at least 1900.
