This firm manufactured the Boss sickle grinder until 1886 or 1887. They were best known for their windmills and pumps. They were succeeded by R. J. Douglas & Co.

The Internet Archive has the Powell & Douglas 1886 catalog, with the cover overstamped "R. J. Douglas & Co. successors to...."
