The cut on the opposite page is an illustration of the Payne Automatic Side-Crank Engine, with out-board bearings. The governor used on these engines is the same as on the Corliss engine, and is illustrated on the page preceding. They are all fitted with balanced slide-valves, right or left handed, as ordered. Messrs. Payne & Sons also build Tandem Compound-engines of this type up to 300 horsepower. |
