Vega Enterprises, Inc. was established in the 1960s by engineer Gordon Snoeyenbos. Early products included welding testers and foundry machinery. At some point, probably in the early 1980s Vega bought the former Yates-American J-Line woodworking machinery lineup from Brodhead-Garrett, in hopes of outfitting high school wood shops, but schools had already started moving away from teaching woodworking. Vega manufactured some woodworking machines but the evolving market and offshore competition led the company to develop specialty products that would appeal to the growing hobbyist and small-shop market. The result was the Vega lathe duplicator and the Vega Pro saw fence, and those two products were quite successful.

In 1985 Jon Snoeyenbos began working for his father's company. He eventually took over control of the business and ran it until 2025 when the business was wound down and Jon retired.
