They were prominently featured in Solem advertisements: "The Solem (Patented) Reinforced Rubber cushion has proven so serviceable that we have repeatedly been called upon to furnish them for the older types of Endless Bed Sanders. The design of this cushion permits the edge sanding of very short and narrow stock without special forms and on this class of work greatly increases the capacity of Solem Sanders.
